The Grillon (pronounced gree-yawn) is the most advanced positioning lanyard that we have. Like traditional rope clamps and ascenders, this device allows the climber to take up slack quickly and easily with one hand. The breakthrough is that it allows the climber to release the line in a controlled manner, even under tension. This self-braking descender has a pivoting cam that feeds the lanyard as necessary, but grips when a load is applied. In addition, there is a handle that allows a controlled release of line even under tension. Not to be used on wire core lines.
